Many people within Kirche im Kino are actively involved in volunteering, supporting mission organizations, serving as missionaries abroad, or exploring mission work. Their commitment shows that everyone can take responsibility and make a difference—regardless of age, experience, or available time.

Service on a Ship

Kathi Salcher

Since the end of January, I have been doing a voluntary social year on the mission ship Logos Hope. Life and work on the ship are shaped by the core values Knowledge, Help and Hope. We provide practical support in many different places (craft work, medical aid, working with children, ...), as well as education and sharing the Gospel.

The costs of the ship are covered by the volunteers themselves. Although I also work to contribute financially, I still depend on additional support. I would like to invite you as a church to be part of this mission through prayer and financial support. Thank you very much! ♡

With MAF in South Sudan

Joel Hageneier

We are excited to give you a brief insight into Joel’s work with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF). At the end of February 2026, Joel left for South Sudan for six months, where he serves as a technical assistant on the MAF base and supports various projects.

South Sudan is one of the youngest countries in the world, and many places can only be reached by airplane. MAF delivers medical aid, food, and mission teams to remote regions – and Joel has the opportunity to be part of this valuable work. His passion for technology and his heart for mission come together beautifully in this assignment.

Bible School in Brazil

Goncalves Family

Since summer 2025, Luca and Sarah have been living in the northeast of Brazil with their four children. Their desire is to share a vision for Europe at the JUVEP Bible school and to highlight how important it is to support churches in Brazil. Through their intercultural experience, they encourage Brazilian missionaries, accompany them, and support them in preparing for mission work in Europe and other countries.

Trucker Church

Jonas Wahlenmeyer

Trucker Church is an association of Christians from different denominations who share a common goal: reaching truck drivers on the road. They are one of the largest professional groups in Austria and often the last link in the transport chain. Many are on the road for months without meaningful contact and away from their families. They are easily overlooked and forgotten.

Trucker Church creates encounters on equal footing and expresses appreciation for their daily service. It gives truck drivers a voice and raises awareness for this often overlooked profession.

With three planned outreach events per year at truck rest areas and several additional open initiatives, we aim to create encounters, pray, and share the Gospel.
